Volunteer for the Accra International Film Festiva

Dear Volunteers! The Academy of Screen Arts, Ghana, is currently organizing the first Accra International Film Festival (AIFF), which will take place on June 15-19 2011. It will showcase the most creative, experimental and innovative films from Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world. Why?We will bring international attention to African film, and help us Africans to connect to the world through the arts. There is more to Africa than what is generally promoted through the Media! Let us Africans speak for ourselves and show the world our interesting ideas, visions and culture. We want to give African and international filmmakers the chance to build working relationships and create fresh multi-cultural films together. Most Western movies long follow well-known schemata, and few are a real surprise; Now, what would happen if Africans bring some new wind into it? You don’t know? Yet…What can you do to make it possible? You can help us with identifying potential sponsors and funders, proposal writing and budgeting, and formulating policies and structures that can be used for subsequent festivals. All that is possible from your place (via the internet), or at our office at 1 Creation Street, East Legon, Accra! During the festival, there will be even more opportunities, like screening assistant. What do you get?A feeling of satisfaction in knowing you helped the arts in Africa rise from the unknown? Yes, certainly, but you will also receive a personal certificate for your efforts, which makes a great eye-catcher in you CV! Moreover, those who want to come to the festival next year will receive free food, and if needed, airport transfer and accommodation for the week! Interested?
